Buthaina Shaheen is a Ph.D. candidate with a focus on the globalisation of Palestine and Israel. She is Palestinian who was born and grew up in Damascus, Syria. She studied, lived and worked in various countries including Syria, Italy and Denmark. She has a Masters degree in ‘Management of Development’ from Turin University, Italy and another Master’s degree in ‘Global Studies and Culture Studies’ from Roskilde University.
Professionally, Buthaina has experiences in the area of education, research, communication and management from workplaces such as international organisations including the EU, UN, the Danish Red Cross and the Syrian Cultural Institute in Denmark.
Buthaina has written academic articles that appeared for instance in Oxford University Press, and opinion articles that appeared in both Arabic, Danish and English newspapers such as Information, Politiken, Altinget, Open-democracy and Aljumhuriya, among others.
