Prescott College in Prescott, AZ has a special place in my heart.

My former standard five classmate, Dale – introduced my book Decolonial Daughter: Letters from a Black Woman to her European Son to some of her classes there and since then, I’ve not nly had the pleasure of being invited to speak at some of their classes, but was invited to give a keynote at their historic Cliffrose Convergence, which I write more about in my upcoming book Blackgirl on Mars (Repeater, February 2023).

For this group, we decided to make a zine based on letter-writing and its healing potential. I was blown away by the honesty, courage and trust that was extended to me. I think the zine speaks for itself – take a look and in the very least, I hope it reminds you of the power of the word and that sometimes all you need is something to write with, something to write on and the courage to tell YOUR truth!

Special thank you to Kye, Tsering, Rayn, Jared, Chyenne, Alex, Amber, Fergie, Shannon & Clouds. Thank you for showing up authentically and for being a part of the amazing space we all co-created!
